APALIT, Pampanga –
Townsfolk from the
municipalities in the Fourth
District, namely Apalit,
Candaba, Macabebe, Masantol,
Minalin, Sto. Tomas, lauded the administration of Governor
Lilia G. Pineda for the P205-
million funds allotted for
various projects here during
her term since June 2010. This transpired as purok
chairmen from said towns,
including those from Sta. Ana
of the Third District, gathered
at the Noah's Ark Function
Hall here for a short forum with the governor wherein
she disclosed all the projects
launched by the Capitol during
her term. Pineda started with the
rehabilitation of the Macabebe
District Hospital which was
funded P15 million by the
provincial government, with
additional P10 million from the Department of Health. "The Macabebe
District Hospital
used to be unsanitary and
unfit to be called as a health
facility. Now I'm proud to
share with you that it is now
at par with– if not better than–other private hospitals
in the province," Pineda
declared. In total, the Capitol allotted
P1.5 billion for the various
infrastructure projects
throughout the province,
including P210 million used for
the rehabilitation of the 11 district and provincial
hospitals which are now at 90
percent, according to Pineda. "These projects would not be
accomplished without the full
support of the Provincial
Board led by Vice Governor
Joseller "Yeng" Guiao. They
are the ones who continuously approve the
budget for projects which will
address the Kapampangan
people's needs," governor also
stressed. Meanwhile, the governor
instructed the attendees to
help maintain peace and order
throughout the province
especially during elections
come May 2013. She asked for their assistance since they are
the ones who could monitor
the situation at the purok
level per barangay. The purok
chairmen in response vowed
to assist their village chiefs in securing their areas before and
after the polls. They also expressed their
gratitude for the governor's
unwavering support,
particularly her valuable
assistance not only in health
but also Kapampangans' needs in agriculture, livelihood,
education, and infrastructure. "This is what you call genuine
public service. The governor is
very hands-on and visible in
every project launched for the
Kapampangan people. We are
very fortunate to have such a leader in the province," the
purok chairmen stated.
